Why Are Teens More Depressed and Anxious than Ever?

“CDC numbers show that even before the pandemic, the number of adolescents saying they felt persistently sad or hopeless was up 40% since 2009.

There are lots of theories on why – social media, increased screen time and isolation, but the research isn’t definitive.”
Maybe it’s because they can see the culture and the world are going INSANE. Maybe they sense — correctly — that on our current course of economic, political and cultural self-destruction, their own future adult lives will be plagued with FAR more problems than most of us encounter today.

Maybe they understand that most rational adults do NOT envy them for being young, and instead actually fear for their futures.

Just a wild guess.
