Why is Russian President Vladimir Putin laughing?
It’s because Russian oil imports have set a new record in the United States and Russia is raking in billions of dollars from Americans.
Imports of crude oil and petroleum products from Russia reached 22.9 million barrels in March, the highest level since August of 2010, according to International Energy Agency (IEA). Russia has become the third-largest oil exporter to the United States.
The recent spike in Russian oil imports has followed the misguided energy policies of the current occupant of the White House, including ending the Keystone XL pipeline and pausing new oil and natural gas permitting on public lands and waters.
Joe the Puppet’s energy and climate and policies, which will reduce the supply of oil and gas, have been a major factor in driving the prices.
