President Trump’s Department of Homeland Security released updated guidelines naming gun manufacturers and retailers as essential on Saturday, which means they are to stay open and operational nationwide during a Chinese coronavirus shutdown.
The Second Amendment Foundation’s Alan Gottlieb commented on the DHS declaration, saying, “Every freedom loving American owes President Trump and his administration a very big thank you for protecting our Second Amendment Rights. This is another Trump promise made and promise kept.” [Source: Breitbart News]
Wow. This has the potential to be a very big deal. Not only with regard to the Trump administration overriding Governors and mayors who wish to shut down the Second Amendment during their “emergency”. It could potentially lead to the use of federal authority (through Homeland Security) to force state governments to let businesses reopen. Potentially very hopeful for averting the Great Depression II so many of our career politicians seem determined to impose on us.Stay tuned for this one!
