Once upon a time, Republicans favored state and local governments while Democrats wanted strong federal intervention. That’s in total reverse. On the national level, President Trump slowly moves toward opening the country back up and distinguishing between “hot spots” and the majority of spots not doing as badly. On the other side, we have power-hungry Governors and local officials on a sprint to see who can be the coolest tyrant and end up with a fawning guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel. If you’re rooting for America and prosperity as well as rationality and health, you will soon discover the national government represents the better side, in this case.
