What upsets me most right now: Decent, reasonable people ask each other, “When do you think they will let us reopen, and get back to normal?” In a democracy, it’s up to the people. Not the dishonest media, or some hapless Governor. In a republic–what America is supposed to be, far better than a democracy–your Bill of Rights guaranteed it was up to you, in the first place. As of this moment, we are neither a democracy nor a republic. People seem unwilling or unable to claim what was always theirs. Our entire fate is in the hands of Governors and a couple of career government doctors. We did this to ourselves. It’s up to us to undo it.
