The biggest — and best — liars are insecure people.
Insecure people get their sense of reality and validation from the approval of others. Their premise is, “If you like me, then I’m OK and all is OK with the world”.
Contrast this with a rational person. A rational person gets his sense of reality from facts, truth, logic and actual REALITY.
When you’re dependent on other people for your sense of reality and truth, you tell them what you think they want to hear. Eventually the truth comes out, and when it does, it can be quite explosive, disappointing or hurtful.
You can’t win the hearts and minds of people by being who you think they want you to be. You can’t win anything that way.
It’s better to get the truth out there early on in the friendship, association or relationship. If you don’t, rest assured: It WILL come back to bite everyone.
