It’s interesting. When MSNBC or CNN releases a poll saying Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren will crush President Trump in 2020 by a 30 point margin — just like Hillary Clinton was supposed to do in 2016 — we’re supposed to automatically and always believe it.
Yet when another poll says the following, I wonder what the powers-that-be want us to believe?
A new internal Democrat poll in swing districts released on Sunday showed that socialist Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) are extremely unpopular and that they may cost the Democratic Party the presidency and the House in 2020.
“Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view,” Axios reported. “Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view.”
“Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%,” Axios added, whereas “capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable.”
WOW.
Not a typo, indeed.
And capitalism favored over socialism by 56 percent to 32 percent? That has to mean something. I’m sure most people don’t want consistent capitalism, like I do. But that’s still a stunning rejection of the socialism being articulated by the most visible dolt in America right now, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez.
If this poll is even a little bit accurate, I see an iceberg ahead for Democrats in 2020. And I’m not the most optimistic person you’d ever meet about President Trump’s reelection. Frankly, I wasn’t sure he would win in 2016, not at all. Not because I don’t have confidence in him or the millions of people who still love their freedom. But because there are millions of ignorant, evasive and downright stupid people, as well. After all, how else could we have got 8 years of Obama?
If these polls are to be believed even — let’s say — 30 percent, there’s an iceberg ahead for Democrats in upcoming elections.
Because people like Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar — who openly, consistently and unblinkingly DESPISE economic freedom and who DESPISE America’s respect for individual rights (the opposite of Omar’s Sharia Law) — now are the face of that party. Nutjobs and dictators are now the face of the Democratic Party.
The issue is deeper than public relations. And people like Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden cannot fix it.
Because however much they will evade it, they know, deep down, that Ocasio-Cortez and Omar are the ultimate and final triumph of everything they have stood for, for decades now. Higher and higher taxes. More and more wealth redistribution. Always more and more nationalization or regulation of this industry or that enterprise. Semi-socialized medicine and mostly socialized education. And never-ending appeasement to countries like Omar’s precious Iran, who never stopped saying (or meaning): “You, the USA, are evil. We will destroy you. Give us time”. Obama gave Iran money.
If people who normally would vote Democratic — and who did vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016 — give President Donald Trump so much as a second look, then there’s indeed a major “Iceberg Ahead” (to quote the mythological line on the Titanic in April 1912) ahead for leftists. Because only a small number of historically Democratic groups (blacks, for example) need switch over to Trump to make all the difference in the Electoral College, not to mention the national vote as well.
Brace yourselves. If I’m right, leftists in media, the corporate world, entertainment/sports and academia are going to turn even uglier than they are.
It will be the biggest and most pathetic temper tantrum in the history of mankind. And such a sweet victory.
