The Bubonic Plague in L.A.: Ideas Have Consequences, Snowflakes

Bubonic Plague ‘Likely’ Already Present In Los Angeles, Dr. Drew Says [Daily Wire 5-31-19]

How do you explain this one, snowflakes?

The city, with a population topping four million and a broader metropolitan area with many millions more, is awash in massive problems — overcrowding, lack of housing, and high demand for free services among them. But other far more serious problems are lurking, Dr. Drew Pinksy said on Thursday.

“We have a complete breakdown of the basic needs of civilization in Los Angeles right now,” Pinsky told Fox New host Laura Ingraham. “We have the three prongs of airborne disease, tuberculosis is exploding, rodent-borne. We are one of the only cities in the country that doesn’t have a rodent control program, and sanitation has broken down.”

Pinsky said bubonic plague — also known as the “Black Death,” a pandemic that killed off millions in the 14th century — is “likely” already present in Los Angeles. The plague is spread by infected fleas and exposure to bodily fluids from a dead plague-infected animal, with the bacteria entering through the skin and traveling to lymph nodes.

“[T]he government is somehow insisting that housing is the problem when in fact we have chronic mental illness, we have addiction, we have people who don’t want to leave the streets,” Pinsky said. “They literally won’t take the housing if we give it to them. And that’s the population that’s vulnerable, and is going to get so ill this summer. It scares me for their well-being.”

It’s obvious to say there’s a shortage of housing. But in a booming economy, with plenty of jobs for all, how can you explain all the poverty?

We’re told that immigrants take the jobs nobody else wants. If that’s true, and if many of these impoverished people are immigrants, then why aren’t they taking the jobs? Why are they poor and homeless?

And if many of these impoverished people are not immigrants, then why are there so many of them? Again, we have jobs. But we also have unlimited welfare and other freebies for citizens and illegals alike. We have more unlimited freebies in southern California — the most leftist socialist state in the USA — than anywhere else. Shouldn’t there be LESS poverty there?

For generations, leftists have told us that government programs — not the private sector and personal responsibility — reduce poverty. Where’s the proof?

We have unlimited free health care in southern CA, more so than anywhere else. How do you explain the return of the Bubonic plague?

Leftist snowflakes (of all ages) express shock and outrage that “I have to live in country [or state] with the Bubonic plague”. Most of them are pretty wealthy and can afford to shield themselves from it, at least for now. But isn’t that wealth disparity the thing they condemn and shame most of all? How can they live with their inconsistencies?

Do these clueless people understand that ideas have consequences? That when you relentlessly pound the culture (and the government) with the idea that technology, capitalism and (by implication) human comfort are morally BAD things, and that we should reduce those things as much as possible, then THIS is what you get?

There are good people in California, and I know some. But in terms of the majority, the idiots who put Venezuela’s policies in place there, I can’t help but say it: It couldn’t happen to a more deserving state.
