“I’m President and You’re Not”

President Donald Trump sat down for an interview with Lesley Stahl for CBS’s “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday.

The interview got heated when Stahl pressed the president about immigration and children being separated from their parents at the border.

Trump criticized the media’s dishonesty, noting his treatment for child separation is different than that of former President Barack Obama over the same issue.

He stated, “When I say Obama did it, you don’t want to talk about it.”

“I disagree, but I don’t wanna have that fight with you,” Stahl replied.

“Lesley, it’s OK,” Trump responded. “In the meantime, I’m president and you’re not.”   [Source: Breitbart]

Truly a beautiful moment.

Ancient, entrenched members of the media like Lesley Stahl have what you might call a “superiority complex”. They take their own (alleged) moral superiority and intellectual accuracy as self-evident, as plain as the sun in the sky.

President Donald Trump flies in the face of that. It’s not about Trump’s style or manner. It’s about the fact he speaks for the millions of Americans who have always wanted to say, “Lesley Stahl, 60 Minutes and Entrenched Media — you’re not right just because you say so.”

When Donald Trump told Lesley Stahl, “I’m President and you’re not,” he spoke for the millions of Americans who are FED UP with our biased, left-wing, totally one-sided media and long ago tuned them out.

The thing that’s self-evident? The President’s totally fair and accurate statement that “When I say Obama did it, you don’t want to talk about it.” That’s plainly true.

President Trump is merely enforcing the same laws that President Obama initially enforced, and started to ignore when it became politically expedient for his party. More than that, separating immigrant families, even when it happens, is the result of freely acting people’s choices to break laws, unlike the rounding up of totally innocent people as the Nazis and Communists did. There’s no comparison. Lesley Stahl and the rest of 60 Minutes knows it. But it’s not about that. It’s about trying to show their own moral and intellectual superiority.

I already miss President Trump. I hope he’s around 6 more years, for sure. But our arrogant, morally lightweight and intellectually dishonest media — so epitomized by people like Lesley Stahl and 60 Minutes — will never get the full thrashing they deserve for their decades of misleading, lying, sneering, equivocating, intimidating and obfuscating.

I know millions of people share my feeling: Thank goodness Donald Trump came along to put these people in their place, where they should have been all along. The rest is up to thinking Americans to tune them out, once and for all. We can think objectively and rationally for ourselves. We can cherish, preserve and expand our liberty, private property, individual rights and freedom.

And people like Lesley Stahl — who long to work for a government-run media — can simply go to hell. Thank you, President Trump, for telling her to go there.
