From The Daily Wire: Joe Biden is trying to pad his resume in anticipation of a potential 2020 Presidential run, and he’s turning to none other than Lady Gaga to help him bolster his community service credentials.
The former Vice President is teaming up with the Mother Monster, according to The Hill, to open a small chain of trauma centers designed to provide long-term physical and psychological treatment to victims of abuse. And despite how ridiculous it sounds, Biden swears [it’s] not a joke – though the co-branding might get tricky.
“We’ll set up trauma centers where women can go to get the long-term help they need to deal with these crises. We finally are recognizing the long-term impacts on the health of women and men who’ve been abused. It’s the next great frontier I want to be a part of,” Biden told a Glamour Magazine party Tuesday night.
Pressed for further information, Biden’s office told The Hill that the project is still in the planning stages and they don’t [know] precisely what a Biden-Gaga rehabilitation facility will look like – but they’re working on it.
It might sound like a strange partnership, but apparently Biden and Gaga have paired up before, also to take on the sudden wave of sexual harassment and sexual abuse allegations that have swept both Congress and the entertainment industry. The pair kicked off an anti-harassment project called “[It’s] On Us,” last month, and they even filmed a video.
Joe Biden plans to “do something” about sexual abuse and rape. Yippee!! Women everywhere should now breathe freely.
Leaving aside the openly crass political motives behind Biden’s ridiculously transparent actions, and pretending for a moment it’s all genuine, we would have to observe that it’s an example of volunteerism. Yet volunteerism is the precise opposite of the massive government state — epitomized by the nasty coercion of Obamacare — that Biden, if he somehow ever rises to the high office of his decades-long dreams, so desperately wants to preserve and expand.
The Democratic Party is all about coercion. It’s the political movement committed to total control over just about everything we do. Whether it’s the environment, paying for strangers’ health care, paying for others’ free abortions or giving up any wealth you manage to create, that’s all leftist progressives stand for: conspicuous compassion and coerceive charity.
Conspicuous compassion: Biden’s actions here reek of “Look at me! I’m a good guy” and would possibly even make Bill and Hillary Clinton blush.
“Gee willikers, that Joe sure is on the job. Why look at him. He’s against sexual abuse and rape! What a relief. He’s got my vote in 2020!”
It’s the same Joe Biden who called opponents of Obamacare economic terrorists. It’s also the same Joe Biden who stood by Obama’s relentless appeasement of Islamic terrorism during eight long years in office. If rape and sexual assault are the bad things Biden claims to believe they are, will he comment on the violence against women regularly done in the name of his and his former boss’ favorite religion, Islam?
The remarkable thing about Biden’s embrace of the sexual assault issue to ride his Court Jester persona all the way to the White House isn’t that he’s doing it. Cynically exploiting serious issues in the pursuit of personal power is, of course, what politicians usually do. The remarkable thing is that he expects people not to see it for what it is. The contempt Biden must feel for his own supporters must be truly toxic. Or, even more frightening? He actually believes the things he’s saying.
It’s so easy to take a stand against rape and sexual assault. It’s so hard to do a real man’s job, which is to stand up to the career politicians in Congress devouring our nation’s wealth and the rabid haters of humanity in North Korea, Iran and elsewhere who seek to incinerate us via nuclear blasts. Anyone who thinks Joe Biden remotely qualifies for such a task is the sort of person who actually believes his absurdly transparent actions in the name of opposing sexual trauma.
