Drain the Medical Swamp & Start by Tearing Obamacare to Pieces

President Trump touted his executive order on Obamacare that attempts to lower premium costs for younger Americans and others while cutting off federal subsidies to insurance companies, saying their “windfall” has ended.

“Health Insurance stocks, which have gone through the roof during the Obamacare years, plunged yesterday after I ended their Dems windfall!” Trump tweeted Saturday morning.

As this example makes clear, government intervention in health insurance and medical care is not about helping people. It’s about helping politicians acquire more power and money.

By creating unearned profits for health insurance companies, politicians get to make a lot of money and acquire more money themselves. Why do you think Democrats and Republicans alike — John McCain, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and the other goons — simply will not repeal Obamacare?

More people seem to sense and understand this fact than ever before. What a lot of people do not yet understand is that government should not be involved in medical care or health insurance in the first place. Those sectors should be left entirely and exclusively to the free market and the private sector. All this means is that the practice and cost of medicine should be left up to doctors and patients to figure out what makes most sense. And back-scratching, profiteering and unaccountable politicians should have no say in any of it.

When government becomes as involved in an industry as it has in medical care and health insurance, it becomes impossible to distinguish between the corrupt politicians and the corrupted business people running the industry. This is what you get when you mix economics and politics. Do not blame any of it on the free market. No market is free until or unless government gets its paws the hell off of it!

President Trump is trying to move things at least somewhat in this direction. The shrieks and howls of the unaccountable who make their living off the government were predictable.

If you want to drain the swamp for medicine and health insurance, you have to demand that government get out of those fields. That includes charity. People who cannot afford health care will have to rely on voluntary charity; yes, it is true. But many, many more will be able to afford medical care than is currently the case under not just Obamacare, but the entire Medicare-Medicaid monstrosity our federal government has spawned over the last few decades.

Drain the swamp. Let’s start with Obamacare and then go after the rest of the unsustainable mess the government has created.
