The Least of the Outrages

Yes, I agree that a Congressman should not shout at a President during a speech. This shows disrespect for the Constitution, whose principles and ideas of individual rights make the Presidency and Congress possible. At the same time, the lack of respect for shouting at the President (who does in fact lie, daily) pales in comparison to the lack of respect that essentially all of our politicians, President included, show for the Constitution on a daily, even hourly basis. So I won’t engage in the pretense that this lack of respect by the Congressman is a somehow out-of-context, unusual departure from the norm. Look at what these people do every day, if you really want to be outraged. And, while you’re at it: Look at the people who keep electing them, and look at the people who educate and train them in schools, colleges and universities.
