People do what they want to do.
If they’re doing it, it’s what they’re choosing to do.
You cannot change their actions. They will only change their actions if and when they choose to do so.
Past actions are the best predictor of future actions. People tend to keep doing what they used to do, unless they resolve to change (which most often, they don’t).
The biggest error you will ever make? The false belief that just because you care, you can make another person change. It won’t happen. Not through force, love, intimidation or (frankly) even through persuasion. Not most of the time, if ever.
People change when they’re able and willing to change; when they want or choose to change. Not a moment sooner, no matter how much you care. Accept this fact, stop fuming over it and free your energies and talents to pursue your own life.
