Iran

I understand about the inability to trust a deal with Iran. Forget about it: That regime is not trustworthy, and never will be. I don’t care if it’s Ayatollah A, Ayatollah B, or C. It would — in a roundabout kind of way — make sense to sign a deal and then let them fail. And then we’d have to attack them all over again, in another 3 or 5 or 10 years. But is that superior to having a lengthy, drawn out war to install a free republic in Iran that the people either aren’t capable of having, or possibly do not want? We are not the world’s keeper — we cannot control others, and we shouldn’t try.

At the same time, Trump was right to attack Iran given evidence they were close to having nuclear weapons, and there can be no question they would use them. The people who argue that “Iran has a right to self-government, we can’t attack their government” ignore the fact that totalitarian governments have no rights. This would be like assigning rights to hostage takers or a band of serial killers. That’s madness.

While it’s true that we can’t force the Iranians (or anyone) to be a free people (Americans are no longer fully free anymore, thanks mainly to the Democrats and their profiting RINO enablers); it’s equally true that we have every right to defend ourselves and the limited freedoms we still enjoy. Most importantly: NO GOVERNMENT HAS RIGHTS. Only individuals have rights. Governments have legitimacy ONLY the extent to which they uphold individual rights. The Iranian government does that ZERO percent.
