The Iran deal? A “deal” implies a promise to honor specified terms by two willing, rational parties. Iran’s regime is not willing. They are signing the agreement because we bombed them into doing so, and because we threaten to bomb them again if they don’t sign. Iran’s regime is not rational. It’s populated by violent cultists who believe that anyone who won’t live under Sharia Law and submit entirely to their will should be beheaded or enslaved. This isn’t rational.
I support the right of a free country to shut down a dangerous regime like Iran. But let’s not kid ourselves that it’s a deal.
The day after it’s signed, Iran will continue to attack commercial ships and infidels as they have since 1979. And, at least under President Trump, we will continue to fight back. Remember: We didn’t start the fire; Iran’s regime did. I remember the seizure of the American embassy in Iran by its current government, where they held hostages at gunpoint for 444 days and we never retaliated for it. What about before 1979? Islam has been at war with all non-Muslims since the inception of their religious cult. Everything we do to them, and will do to them in the future, is 100 percent self-defense. No apologies. No unearned guilt.
