Wow. A Republican rejecting Milton Friedman is not a Republican. Or, if he is, the Republican Party really has no more standing as a defender of individual rights, private property or even hampered capitalism. The mythology of Vance is a hillbilly who made good by going to Yale and joining the elite. Inspirational, right? But Yale is such a corrupt, intellectually dishonest and anti-American den of sycophants (funded heavily, as always, by American taxes), that given the choice between a hillbilly and Yale Law School … I will take the hillbilly.
Vance was not supportive of President Trump, by the way, until Trump helped him win victory in the U.S. Senate, and later offered him the VP role. I understand Vance is still close to Tucker Carlson who has revealed himself to be an anti Semite who would rather see Hitler or Stalin as President than Donald Trump–which is to say, Carlson is now a typical Democrat.
I shudder for the future of America if Democrats ever retake government. But if J.D. Vance and a Republican Party dominated by his views is to be the only alternative, will we be much better off? Will we get the tax cuts and deregulation an advocacy of free markets imply? Ideas matter. Democrats represent the “ideas” of savages, sociopaths and totalitarians. They’re dead and gone as a remotely rational force. Republicans are to be yesterday’s Clinton or Obama Democrats, and that’s not a choice. We need a revolution in America. From the ground up.
