Nobody has a moral right to a government job. Government jobs are created by other parties. You’re entitled to have the terms of employment honored, if they’re in writing and legally binding. However, you have no moral right to the job itself — nor do you have a moral right never to lose the job. Imagine if anyone in the private sector thought this way. A lot of the lawsuits in the private sector are highly questionable, but I’ve never heard of a lawsuit over the claimed right never to have a job end.
Take a simpler example. Imagine you have someone cutting your lawn. You pay them to cut your lawn, for years. Eventually you decide you’d like your grandson to cut the lawn. He’s willing, he’s less expensive and it will be a good learning experience for him. Are you morally (much less legally) obliged NOT to hire your grandson, and instead retain the person who has been cutting the lawn for years? Or let’s say you let a cleaning lady go, because you’ve decided to save some money and do the housecleaning yourself. Does that cleaning lady have a right to sue you (or even morally condemn you) simply because you no longer want her services?
It’s madness.
That’s the mentality of these government workers and other statists/socialists who scream bloody murder that President Trump is finally attempting to do what Republicans have promised for generations, and have never done: cut the government.
Advocates of Big Government out there, I’ll put it to you plainly: YOU HAVE NO RIGHT. You never did. Get a life and find a new way to make a living, and stop being parasites living off the backs of others.
