Actually, the problem is that they don’t view themselves as important. Consequently, they need to look important in the eyes of others. It’s a futile, self-perpetuating attempt to gain the regard they never gave themselves. This leads so many to become assholes — or worse.

He’s still a great Governor. But he got the presidential bug so intensely that he caved and said there was no voter fraud in 2020. He knows full well there was. It’s the first betrayal of integrity exhibited by an otherwise rock solid man. It may destroy his career. He was known for his integrity. It’s another tragedy for the American republic. We can’t afford more hits.
