The Queen’s Optimism

“We will meet again”, Queen Elizabeth II pointedly said in a direct reference to the most famous British song from the war years of the 1940s, when she was a teenager. “Better days will return.”

I am not much for royalty. But I love the Queen. It’s not so much what she said. It’s her optimism. And her incredible perspective of history. She knew Churchill. She has seen World War II. And she still has her marbles. She’s actually rooting for us to win.
