Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s long-awaited “Medicare-for-all” funding plan projects the government-run health care system would cost a staggering sum of “just under $52 trillion” over the next decade, with the campaign proposing a host of new tax increases to pay for it while still claiming the middle class would not face any additional burden.
“We don’t need to raise taxes on the middle class by one penny to finance Medicare for All,” Sen. Warren, D-Mass., said in her plan — a copy of which was obtained by Fox News in advance of its release Friday.
The countries with socialized medicine finance their programs with extensive middle class taxes–most notably, the VAT, a huge sales tax that matters a great deal to working and middle class people. Warren and other socialists are simply liars. There will never be enough rich people to finance $52 trillion, no doubt a conservative estimate. To his credit, Bernie Sanders ekes out a little truth here and there, but generally walks it back.
We already lived through the blatant lies of Obamacare: you can keep your plan, premiums will go down, etc. The response of people like Warren is to tell even BIGGER whoppers. I am stunned that millions of people fall for it. The ignorance and stupidity is too monumental to be excused by innocence or youth.
