The First Amendment is History in New York City

It can’t happen here, in the USA, you say?

It’s already happening.

Here’s a headline from the New York Post: City bans calling someone an ‘illegal alien’ out of hate

I had to do a little research to make sure this isn’t fake news. Evidently it’s not. If you live in New York City, you no longer live in a free country. The government can arrest and jail you for SAYING the wrong thing to somebody. And for no other reason. If the government authorities don’t like what you’re saying, they call it “hate” — and declare hate as against the law. They don’t even need to pass a law. A directive will do.

What does “hate” consist of? Using terms like “alien” or “illegal alien”. If a police officer hears you using these terms, you will be fined $250,000 each time you use one. And if you don’t pay, you’ll presumably be put in jail.

Wow.

New York City is now a left-wing fascist dictatorship. Does anybody care? What has happened to leftists and Democrats?

The person who sent me this information asked if she was missing something. How, she asked, can this law co-exist with the First Amendment? Doesn’t the First Amendment override the ability of a city or state to brazenly violate it, as this directive out of New York City does?

I hope people who still vote Democratic realize what their party and movement have become. I hope they don’t share those totalitarian views and that they will demand their party change, or consider another movement (even President Donald Trump) as an alternative. Because America cannot go on like this.

Sure, we still have President Trump to appoint justices to the Supreme Court who probably still believe in the First and Second Amendments. That will no longer be the case with Democratic presidents, who have now totally abandoned the Constitution and its two most important components: The First and Second Amendments.

And we now also know what I suspected after the election back in 2016. The Democratic Party will not let dissenting results stand. They will not tolerate elections or appointments they do not like. They see no obligation to make the case for different Presidents or different Supreme Court justices. They feel no obligation to acknowledge the existence of the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights. It’s their way — or the highway. I sometimes think we’re already in a Civil War, and just don’t want to admit it.

We can’t go on like this. Read on and see for yourself:

It’s now against the law in New York City to threaten someone with a call to immigration authorities or refer to them as an “illegal alien” when motivated by hate.

The restrictions — violations of which are punishable by fines of up to $250,000 per offense — are outlined in a 29-page directive released by City Hall’s Commission on Human Rights.

“‘Alien’ — used in many laws to refer to a ‘noncitizen’ person — is a term that may carry negative connotations and dehumanize immigrants, marking them as ‘other,’” reads one passage of the memo. “The use of certain language, including ‘illegal alien’ and ‘illegals,’ with the intent to demean, humiliate, or offend a person or persons constitutes discrimination.”

The directive goes on to list several examples of acts and comments that would run afoul of the restrictions, including harassing people over their accents or grasp of English, or wielding the threat of a call to Immigration and Customs Enforcement as a tool of hate … [full story here]
