Do Facebook and Twitter want government regulation? Of course they do!
Regulation helps big companies stay big. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with big. But big should be the result of millions or billions of people WANTING what that particular company has to offer. Government regulation gives these big companies an advantage against potential or actual competitors. The little guys can’t deal with the contradictory and expensive regs, while the big guys can. It’s an old lesson repeated over and over again, playing out once again in the present day with these social media giants.
