Warren’s Gun Control Plan Endorses Holding Gun Manufacturers ‘Strictly Liable’ For Damages [Daily Wire]
The most controversial aspect of Elizabeth Warren’s gun control plan is the section on liability, which states in part that Americans should be able to “hold the manufacturer of the weapon that harmed them strictly liable for compensatory damages to the victim or their family.”
Of all the gun control measures proposed, this one is by far the most evil. It’s bad enough to ban guns, in violation of the Second Amendment. But Elizabeth Warren and her fellow Communist-Democrat leftists want to take it a step further: Hold a manufacturer responsible for what a person CHOOSES to do with a product.
If it’s logical and fair to PUNISH gun manufacturers for the choice of some people to use guns for murder, isn’t it equally logical and fair to REWARD gun manufacturers for the choice of others to defend themselves, loved ones or even strangers with a gun?
Guns are neither intrinsically good nor intrinsically bad. It all depends on who’s holding the gun!
The premise of Warren’s proposal is vicious on three fronts at once. One, she wants to take away the right to self-protection by making it financially impossible for gun manufacturers to make weapons for self-protection.
Two, she wants to take product liability to a new level never heard of before. Normally, we sue people for products that don’t function as advertised. Warren wants to sue manufacturers precisely because guns operate as advertised.
Three, Warren seeks to evade the fact that guns are just as useful in protecting the innocent as in harming the innocent. She wants to change the law to reflect her personal opinion that guns are NEVER life-saving or justified in their use — except, of course, when in the hands of government officials she endorses.
What more do you need to call someone a Nazi, a Communist or any other kind of tyrant? This woman is not insane. She knows exactly what she’s doing. She’s evil. And anyone who supports her policies is, in my book, just the same.
If President Trump does not win reelection in 2020, we will find ourselves in a dark dictatorship. Convince me otherwise.
