As California Burns, Environmentalists Cling to their “Truth”

California Governor Jerry Brown says “climate change deniers” are responsible for the massive and tragic fires sweeping through his state.

He offers no scientific evidence or proof. He only offers political arguments.

It’s like the Middle Ages. The Church hijacked science and claimed all scientific truths for itself–even if it meant claiming the sun revolves around the earth rather than the other way around.

The following is an excerpt from author Marc Morano’s new 2018 best-selling book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change.

“There is increasing evidence that there is overall less fire in the landscape today than there has been centuries ago, although the magnitude of this reduction still needs to be examined in more detail.”…

“The ‘wildfire problem’ is essentially more a social than a natural one.” Researchers from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid found that “climate change” is not to blame for increased forest fires in the Mediterranean basin.”…

“In the United States, wildfires are also due in part to a failure to thin forests or remove dead and diseased trees. In 2014, forestry professor David B. South of Auburn University testified to the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee that “data suggest that extremely large megafires were four-times more common before 1940,” adding that “we cannot reasonably say that anthropogenic global warming causes extremely large wildfires.” As he explained, “To attribute this human-caused increase in fire risk to carbon dioxide emissions is simply unscientific.”

No scientist is infallible. But a scientist — at least one who doesn’t work directly for the government — has no motive other than objective truth. A politician has very different motives, as we all know.

Politicians like Jerry Brown act like there’s already a totalitarian dictatorship, and the government already has final say over all scientific data permitted to be released. But facts and reason are stubborn things. The truth has a way of going on even when you outlaw it, or even when you choose to ignore it.

Sadly, Jerry Brown is counting on his constituents to willingly do what people have no choice over in a dictatorship: Believe his politically based anti-scientific garbage without any reference to what actual scientists are saying.

In the Middle Ages or under a dictatorship, perhaps people have some excuse. But what excuse is there in a world where we still have freedom of speech and thought?

In the meantime, California continues to burn because environmentalists refuse to permit removing trees. And the fools who vote for petulant little flakes like Jerry Brown continue to feel righteous and morally superior for it.

It’s just like the Middle Ages–with far less excuse.
