“We are a political monoculture that’s intolerant of different views,” Brian Amerige, a senior Facebook engineer, wrote in the Aug. 20 post titled “We Have a Problem With Political Diversity” that was leaked to the New York Times. “We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack—often in mobs—anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology.”
Since the post went up, over 100 employees have joined a group called FB’ers for Political Diversity. Although other Facebook employees reportedly complained that the group’s online posts were offensive to minorities, a source with knowledge of the situation told Fox News the group’s intent is to be a constructive space and includes people on the left and the right. A “political monoculture”. What an accurate term.
Actually, it applies to any context where leftists make up the majority.
They see themselves as tolerant, yet they’ve created the most intolerant atmosphere since the Salem Witch Trials. At least the oppressors at the Salem Witch Trials knew they were intolerant. It’s like a sick joke to watch leftists preen and impress each other with their “liberalism” while practicing the most repressive, judgmental and ruthlessly intolerant attitudes seen since the Middle Ages.
Things are so bad at Facebook — and other hard-left corporations, no doubt — that the non-leftist minority is reduced to pleading for “diversity”. Do you see the absurdity?
Notice how Facebook’s engineer says opposition to conservative or libertarian ideas happens in “mobs”. That’s because leftism is a mob mentality. It’s not based on reason, logic and facts — and its adherents know it. If leftism — defined as socialism, political correctness, and one-party rule by politicians — were based on reason, logic and facts, no mob reactions would be necessary. Cases would be made for their positions and many would be persuaded.
Leftists do not attempt to persuade because they don’t have the tools of persuasion on their side. And I believe they know it. Why else practice intimidation psychologically and censorship politically?
I feel for any bright, independent thinker working at Facebook or any of the other tech and social media companies comprising our political monoculture.
As anyone living in California will tell you, that political monoculture is the way of the future, and it’s already the present tense in one-party California. The monoculture will come soon to a business, state or city near you if leftists get their way. The time to fight them is now. Treat them as the psychological bullies they are. Let them know you are NOT intimidated and you never will be. Their rage will be proof they have heard you.
