St. Barack’s Latest Alternative to Capitalism, Private Property and Freedom

The remarkable thing isn’t that he says it. The remarkable thing is that so many foolishly take it as something new.

Obama delivered the 2018 Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Johannesburg, South Africa. In that lecture, the former president decries “populist movements, cynically funded by right-wing billionaires”.

What does he offer in their place?

Guaranteed wealth for all. Guaranteed income.

But how are we to have guaranteed income without the billionaires who will disproportionately fund it?

In the same sentence this idiot proclaims, “It’s not just money a job provides. It provides dignity and structure and a sense of place and a sense of purpose.”

And then in the very next sentence he states, “So we’re going to have to consider new ways of thinking about these problems, like a universal income…” Blah, blah, blah, the usual list of socialist programs to make billionaires like himself — who didn’t create or produce anything — feel virtuous.

So let me get this straight, St. Barack.

# 1: Billionaires are evil — particularly if they support anything like capitalism, i.e. economic freedom where everyone is equal under the law (although not in ability).

Yet billionaires are to provide the funds for the most socialistic program of them all: A guaranteed income.

Got it.

# 2: Jobs are important to provide people with meaning and purpose in life. Presumably self-respect and self-responsibility, too.

And yet income is to be guaranteed — as an entitlement, as a right to be provided by others.

Does anybody listen to this man? Does anybody stop to think about the absurd, hilarious contradictions in what he says? Not just him — but any other socialists, including the majority of the Democratic Party that now, like Obama, wants a guaranteed income as an entitlement?

How do “meaning and purpose” in life square with never needing to earn an income? Of knowing “the government” will provide it for you whether you decide to work or not?

Do young people who worship at the altar of socialistic redistribution understand how old, tired, contradictory and stupid these ideas are — even on their own terms?

How unthinking does he think we are? How unthinking ARE those who mindlessly continue to swallow it?

Barack Obama is gone from office. But these stupid, self-defeating and illogical ideas never go away. They’re like a collective mental illness designed to test the limits of human endurance, until eventually either we perish from them, or reject them completely.

We can’t go on like this. But America is just one election away — any one election going forward — from a totally socialist regime.
