President Donald Trump announced his decision to withdraw from the Iran deal on Tuesday, keeping his campaign promise to end the agreement reached by former President Barack Obama.
Another campaign promise kept.
“America will not be held hostage to nuclear blackmail,” he said.
Amen. Not only did Obama’s and Kerry’s Iran “deal” hold America hostage. It paid the totalitarian religious dictatorship of Iran vast sums of money for holding us hostage. It was beyond suicidal.
Trump’s decision signals a major blow to the Obama administration’s signature foreign diplomatic agreement reached in 2015 with the rogue regime.
Keep deleting Obama. Until eventually it will be as if he was never in office.
“At the heart of the Iran deal was a giant fiction: That a murderous regime desired only a peaceful nuclear energy program,” President Trump said. “Today, we have definitive proof that this Iranian promise was a lie.”
To paraphrase Ayn Rand, mistakes of that magnitude are not made innocently. In other words, Obama officials knew full well that Iranian mullahs had no intention of honoring any deal other than their commitment to obliterate Israel and, once they can, America.
The only explanation for such an agreement with a self-evidently brutal regime would be hatred of America. It should be a no-brainer to get rid of it. It never should have been signed — nor even conceived of — in the first place.
Obama and John Kerry are America-haters no less than the mullahs who openly vow to destroy all things pro-liberty, pro-Western, pro-non-Muslim.
“Today’s action sends a critical message,” Trump said. “The United States no longer makes empty threats. When I make promises, I keep them.”
You don’t have to agree with everything President Trump says or does. But you have to respect he appears to mean all of it. And much of the time — on big issues like this, especially — he’s right.
How wonderful to have someone in the Oval Office who actually loves America and wants America to win and survive. This did not used to be controversial.
Sorry, Democrats. America isn’t finished yet. Deplorables have made your goal of destroying liberty and freedom just a little bit harder today.
