Homophobia in the Muslim world is “becoming very inconvenient for liberals because liberals are apologists for Islam,” Michael Lucas, a gay pornographic film star and director, charged in a radio interview Sunday.
Lucas slammed liberals for being largely silent amid increasing reports of gay people being persecuted in the Muslim world. And he said that he has noticed a trend in which the left-wing focuses on a specific country’s leadership instead of “political Islam” when attributing blame for anti-gay policies and actions.
Lucas said he is noticing a trend in which more and more “gays are leaving their base and the party line because the party line is ‘Islam is a good thing. Islam is our friend.’”
Lucas is the founder and CEO of Lucas Entertainment, New York’s largest gay adult film company and one of the biggest gay porn production companies in the world.
I don’t know of any hard evidence for the trend that Lucas speaks of, but it’s not hard to imagine. Imagine that you’re a gay or lesbian person. You believe in your right to equality under the law, including the right to marry whom you choose. If you’re rational and gay, you don’t seek the unearned, as in the “right” to force somebody to design and bake your wedding cake; but you do demand the right to be left alone.
Along comes politically correct Islam, whose Sharia Law stands for the utter and total opposite of being left alone. It’s the religious right wing to end any previous concept of the religious right. It goes way beyond murdering or enslaving gays, but gays would be the first to go under Sharia Law, as we see in countries like Iran where it dominates.
Then there are the Democrats who claim to be the best friend of gays and lesbians. Yet these same Democrats make it easier than ever before for Iran to build nuclear weapons so it can spread Sharia law around the world. They are the same Democrats who, via political correctness, insist that Islam never be criticized and that Sharia Law be granted status as equally valid as Westernized objective law, which largely respects the separation of church and state. And they are the same Democrats who say, over and over, as gay porn star Michael Lucas accurately points out, “Islam is a good thing. Islam is our friend.”
It’s a train wreck waiting to happen. You would think the shooting up of a gay bar in Orlando last year, the actions of an insane man endorsed by the Islamic State and places like Iran, would have counted for something. So far as I can tell, it did not count when it came time to choose Donald Trump for President, since Donald Trump was the only major candidate to even dare challenge Islam and refer to Islamic-inspired terrorism as a bad thing.
Democrats call it racism and “nativism” to suggest that Sharia Law-supporting Muslims are neither good nor safe to have in the United States. Yet these are the people most committed not only to eroding but to destroying any hope of individual rights for gays and lesbians. It doesn’t stop gays and lesbians from rushing to support Democrats, the very party sanctioning and enabling their own destroyers.
Gays and lesbians, along with other unyielding and blind supporters of the Democratic Party, don’t only have to face the truth about Islam. They also have to face the truth about their party. Their party is not on their side because their party is no longer on America’s side. “America” refers to the right to be left alone, and to have the sovereignty of one’s individual rights to be respected above all else. That’s not what the Democrats support by going out on a limb for all things Islamic.
The right to marry does you very little good if the government charged with your protection from violence-crazed bullies actually hands those bullies the weapons to destroy you — literally, in the case of the Iran deal, and morally, in the case of shaming anyone who challenges the politically correct movement of Islam.
We can read about the years leading up to Nazi Germany and how otherwise mostly sane and educated people could let it happen. Look at today’s Democratic Party and progressive movment: This is how it happens. If we’re not careful, America’s gays and lesbians, as well as millions more who seek to live a Westernized life of liberty and freedom, may go down the same road. It will only happen if we refuse to stand up for our lives and give the barbarous bullies what they deserve.
