Determined to stop Russia’s interference in the presidential campaign, at least one of President Obama’s senior advisers urged him to make the ultimate threat to Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. officials told NBC News: Mess with the vote and we will consider it an act of war.
In October, the U.S. used the latest incarnation of an old Cold War communications system — the so-called “Red Phone” that connects Moscow to Washington — to reinforce Obama’s warning that the U.S. would consider any interference on Election Day a grave matter.
Wow. Do you think Barack Obama would have talked so tough, or made such threats, to Iran? Or to ISIS? It’s doubtful. If he had, the Western world might not be overridden with Islamic terrorism.
It shows you where the priorities of Barack, and other progressives like him, really reside: In political power. Not rights, but power.
A President who authentically cared about the survival of the American republic and the individual rights of its citizens would not be indifferent to interference by foreign powers in elections, of course. But an authentically concerned President would be at least as vigilant when it came to known enemies whose threat to the republic is far graver than any actual or alleged threat posed by Vladimir Putin’s Russia. ISIS, Islam, Iran and other mortal enemies of Americans never got the red phone treatment, and never would.
It all boils down to what the purpose of government actually is. Is the purpose of government to protect the rights of individuals to be free? Or is the purpose of government to ensure that those currently in power keep their hold on power?
Obama and his fellow progressives are mad as hell that they’ve lost power. Not only to Donald Trump, but in both houses of Congress, on the Supreme Court and in state and local governments too, for the most part. It’s not so much an endorsement of Republicans as it is an overwhelming repudiation of Democratic rule as exemplified by Obama for eight long years.
Yes, Vladimir Putin is a dictatorial thug. But how much better was Barack Obama? The victims of IRS harassment, arbitrary EPA regulations, favoritism in the enforcement of Obamacare, officials asleep at the wheel during Benghazi, and so many other cases certainly do understand. The bar in America is high. Barack, as a president, lowered the bar to a level Americans have rarely, if ever, witnessed before. He divided the country by race and political ideology, and then blames Donald Trump for winning. And now he blames the Russians, too.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison defended rights against the tyrannical British monarchy. Abraham Lincoln upheld the Constitution over the institution of slavery. Harry Truman wiped out Imperial Japan and finished off the Nazis. Ronald Reagan stood up to the Soviet Communists and ended the Cold War without ever firing a shot.
What does Barack Obama stand for? Ensuring that Democrats can keep their hold on power. Making the world safe for illegal immigration so more people can get hooked on the welfare state and Democrats gain more power. Defeating ISIS or standing up for the Constitution are the last things on his mind. They never were on his mind, because he does not care about these things.
If America is to survive, it has to appreciate the difference between our best Presidents and one of the worst ones we’ve ever had: Barack Hussein Obama.
