Trump and Obama: Stunningly Different Responses to Castro’s Death

Upon Fidel Castro’s death, Barack Obama offered “condolences” to Fidel Castro’s family and spoke sadly of the loss of a “singular figure.”

Donald Trump described Castro’s death as the “passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights.”

Obama presumably speaks for one half of the country, and Trump for the other half.

Is it any wonder our differences no longer seem reconcilable?
