How stupid do they think we are?

In one of his most transparent and laughable gambits to date, FBI Director James Comey has yet again “vindicated” Hillary Clinton for the latest email snafu involving notorious sexter Anthony Weiner and who knows who else. Hillary operatives have already been caught calling her supporters “stupid,” and I guess she has convinced the FBI director of the same thing.

So let’s review the facts. Hillary Clinton was investigated for compromising national security while Secretary of State. Evidence was found to support the charges, according to FBI Director Comey himself. Then oddly, and in total contradiction, he closed the case last summer. Then the case was reopened. And now it’s suddenly closed. This whole circus reeks of desperation and panic.

From the beginning, many of us suspected it was all political. But what political purpose did FBI Director Comey’s almost comical charade serve? Imagine the kind of person who would actually buy this and think, “Gee whiz. After a few days of investigation, the FBI has once again said there’s no evidence to indict Hillary Clinton. Wow, that’s a relief. Now I can vote for her.” If the future of the United States is in the hands of the airheads the FBI presumes us all to be, we’re surely finished anyway.

I don’t believe that all people, including at least some who pay attention and may even lean toward Clinton, are actually that stupid. In fact, this is so insulting to even the average person that it has a very good chance of landing Donald Trump in the White House.

In two tweets late this afternoon, Newt Gingrich said it best: “Comey must be under enormous political pressure to cave like this and announce something he can’t possibly know. The destruction of James Comey by political pressure is painful to watch. He is being twisted into an indefensible pretzel of contradictions.” In tragicomical fashion, this latest development confirms what many of us already knew: The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice are now completely politicized. And it’s not just the hapless and pathetic James Comey twisted into a pretzel. It’s the entire U.S. system of justice.

This latest performance raises the stakes in this election to almost unbelievable heights. If Hillary Clinton wins, that’s literally the end of the FBI and any concept of true justice. America’s system was designed to be a nation of laws, not of men. It has never been perfect. However, our judicial and legal system has never been completely compromised and corrupted by politics. Until now.

Americans have about 24 hours to decide whether we remain a Constitutional republic based on laws and justice, or whether we blindly turn the keys of justice over to the most rotten and corrupt hacks in American history.
