Gun Sales at Record Level In October: A Healthy Thing for America

The FBI’s background check system for gun sales processed more than 2.3 million checks in October, setting an all-time record for the month.

It’s a healthy sign! It means not all Americans are clueless about the growing dangers of our own government with respect to individual rights and historic Constitutional freedoms.

Gun ownership is also a literal check on the government. Yes, in a rational society with a proper government, people only need weapons to protect themselves from criminals. But in America 2016, as is plain for all to see, we have actual criminals at higher and higher levels of government. One of the biggest professional political criminals in American history is poised to take the presidency, licking her chops at the prospect and stopping at nothing to do so. In candid moments (and emails), she has made no secret of her opposition to the Second Amendment and appears more than willing to sacrifice the liberties of other people who don’t share her views, or who refuse to “pay” her corrupt foundation to “play.”

There were 2,333,539 gun-related checks processed through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, known as NICS, last month, according to FBI documents posted on Monday. That represents an increase of more than 350,000 checks over the previous October, itself a record. It’s also the 18th month in a row to set a record.

With two months to go, 2016 has already seen 22,206,233 NICS checks, making it the second highest year for checks in the history of NICS with only 2015 seeing more.

It sounds like these increasingly armed citizens are perfectly willing to follow the law with respect to criminal background checks. Will they be as willing to have their weapons confiscated should it ever come to that under a presidential administration run by executive orders, backed up by slavishly agreeing Supreme Court justices confirmed by an ever-compliant Republicrat Congress?

That remains to be seen.

Keep in mind that a criminal background check is reasonable so long as criminals are convicted felons, i.e., guilty of things like assault, rape, theft or murder. But as laws continue to proliferate in our activist government society, eventually you will be a criminal for owning too much ammunition, or for using your gun on the wrong days of the week, or for other technicalities (see California trends) designed to hamper weapon ownership without outright banning it. And eventually you’ll be a criminal for even owning a gun at all. You cannot assume the Supreme Court will back us up. Remember, the Supreme Court backed up Obamacare. And that’s with a Republican Chief Justice and a majority, which gun rights supporters will not have, especially if Hillary wins.

The American citizenry is increasingly armed. Hopefully this will give government officials some pause before they go too far. If nothing else, it makes them realize they could have a real fight on their hands if and when they go too far. We want our government to be frightened of the people, especially when the government is run by people with no principles and thoroughly anti-Constitutional, openly corrupt intentions.

I hope like anything it never comes to that. But we all have to be realists in 2016, just like our founders were in 1776 and later. Throughout all of human history, government has been an enemy of human beings far more than a friend. It’s not that the answer is outright anarchy. But when we allow corrupt people to run the show, government itself becomes a criminal force. It’s teetering on the edge of that right now, and some would argue it has already happened.

It’s up to the people to stop it. Stopping criminal Hillary from gaining command of the armed forces and the entire federal government would be a mighty good start, though only a beginning.
