The Hillary Smirk

Hillary Clinton expressed considerable outrage over Donald Trump’s positions in the debate. She talks about him as if he’s some kind of a freak occurrence. She seems indignant that she’s obliged to respond to his positions, even though most of his positions represent the views and attitudes of millions of voters.

Does Hillary understand that while not everyone voting for Trump necessarily loves him, nearly everyone voting for Trump is at least as angry as he is?

Does she grasp—or even care—that once in office, assuming she wins, that nearly half of the country does not consider her a credible president given her positions on very fundamental issues, including but not limited to freedom in health care, the First and Second Amendments, and the use of executive orders in place of legislation?

Hillary sneers and smirks her way through this campaign. She has no use or time for people who disagree. She embodies her entire Democratic Party when acting this way. She should have expected someone like Donald Trump, sooner or later, to rise up and say – however inelegantly at times – “Enough, already!”

Hillary Clinton leads a party and “progressive” movement in denial. They do not understand the depth or the nature of the anger and hostility against their tactics and willingness to ram, by force, their view of bossy government activism down every citizen’s throat. When and if she takes over the executive branch of the government, Hillary Clinton can expect more hostility and anger than Barack Obama ever generated. So will her wimpy apologists in Congress, including Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Win or lose on November 8, it’s just a fact, and it’s not going away.

As one example, I’m reading polls that suggest twenty percent of Texans wish to seriously consider seceding from the United States should Hillary Clinton win. They already know what a presidency under her will be like: Obama’s third term, only worse.

Granted, twenty percent is hardly a serious majority. But it’s incredible that the numbers are that high, even in what might be an unreliable poll. It’s amazing that pollsters even see reason to ask citizens about the question of secession. This is how it was in the mid-19th Century, in the years leading up to the Civil War! There’s a lot of anger not just in Texas, but throughout half or so of the country Hillary Clinton will claim to lead and control come 1/20/17. What does she plan to do about it?

If she’s anything like Obama, she will do nothing. In fact, she will pour gasoline on an already growing fire.

I find it interesting that Donald Trump was asked the question in the third and final debate as to whether he would support the final election results, given his concern that there may be fraud or rigging. Hillary was not asked a similar question, such as: “What do you plan to do about the widespread perception you’re a criminal?”

It’s more than a question of democracy. It’s a question of rights. Democrats have made it clear, first with Obama and now with Hillary, that getting their way matters more than the law. When Democrats want illegal immigrants made legal citizens, they won’t wait for Congress. Obama just issues an order. Hillary has already indicated she will use executive orders to undermine gun ownership. Her Supreme Court majority will certainly back her up. And we already have witnessed the spectacle of her holding herself above the law with the corrupt, enabling chief of the FBI.

No wonder Hillary’s always smirking. It’s not the smile of genuine serenity and contentment. It’s the sneer of a criminal, of a manipulator and exploiter who got away with it. If she chose to speak as candidly as Donald Trump often does, Hillary Clinton would express with candor what her smirking already implies: “I’ve got you. You will do everything I say. And there’s nothing you can do about it.” That’s her message to the half or so of the nation who will never support her, and the half who are at least as angry as Donald Trump about a whole lot of things.

Psychologically and socially, this is a recipe for dissension, resentment and anger like this country has rarely seen. Yes, it will be a wild ride and a period of chaos if Donald Trump is elected. But it’s going to be an even wilder—and angrier—ride if Hillary Clinton gets elected. Come November 9, the anger against our increasingly tyrannical government will still be there … stronger than ever.
