As Cleveland prepares for the Republican National Convention, more than 70 law enforcement and government agencies are on high alert in the city, with riot gear, handcuffs and body cameras.
Cleveland jails are being emptied and its courts are staying open until 1 a.m. in case there are mass arrests, according to The Washington Post.
“You have a lot of angry people in the United States in 2016, and it seems a lot of it is focused on the political process,” Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Ronald Adrine said.
Much is made these days of Republican anger.
What about leftist, Democratic anger? Why is Republican (or Independent) anger automatically and always wrong, while Democratic anger — if it’s acknowledged at all — is never questioned?
Democrats are constantly in a rage. No matter how much the government spends or borrows, it’s never enough. Bernie Sanders’ whole candidacy was based on the idea that even Obama and the totally compliant Congress have not spent enough. How much is enough? No answer is ever given, because there’s no conceivable amount the federal government could ever spend or borrow that would ever be enough.
Some Republicans are angry for valid reasons, and some are angry for invalid reasons. The valid reasons far outweigh the invalid reasons. An example of valid reasons are that government infringes upon the individual rights of citizens, forces some to foot the bill for others, seeks to outlaw guns, punishes people for their success and even threatens to curb freedom of speech, as the IRS did with Tea Party organizations. Another valid reason is the fact that politicians in both parties make money by acquiring power, power which is based on the sacrifice of some individuals’ rights (and money) for the sake of others with more political clout. Another valid reason is President Obama snidely and smugly tells innovators and producers, “You didn’t build that,” while without those innovators and producers — who most certainly did “build that” — there would be nothing to redistribute in the first place!
To say that you’ve had enough of it, and aren’t going to take it any longer, is a perfectly valid, healthy and reasonable way to respond to all that has been going on. Add to this the fact that our government won’t do what it’s supposed to do, which is defend us against threats like Islamic terrorism, and in fact won’t even call the terrorists what they proudly call themselves (i.e. Muslim), is even more rational reason to be angry as hell.
Despite all this, Republicans are constantly on the defensive and encouraged to feel shame for even expressing a tiny bit of anger. Yet when an ally of the Democrats, like Black Lives Matter, decides to take it upon itself to start shooting white cops and declaring racial injustice to be the norm of everyday life (something almost nobody can find evidence of), then — well, that’s inspirational, that’s noble, and how dare you even question it?
Donald Trump is in much greater danger of being shot at than Hillary Clinton will ever be. The Republican Party convention is a much higher risk for violence than the Democratic convention, because Democrats are angry at all the “right” people — the ones who make the money, produce all the wealth, the ones upon whom they base their entire program of unlimited social “welfare” spending.
If we had less Democratic, leftist anger about things which they use to justify the violation of Constitutional, individual rights, then there would be less reason for Republican anger to even exist, in the first place. It’s time for people who do not agree with socialism, Democratic policies and relentless humility in the face of mortal enemies like Islam to stop complying, and to start fighting back.
It’s long overdue.
