In the United States, you can believe, speak and write about whatever you wish. However, in a free country, you cannot run for office promising to repeal the Bill of Rights, seize and confiscate privately owned wealth and property, and impose Sharia law or any other religious dictatorship.
It shouldn’t be legal to run for office to deny the individual rights of your fellow citizens, and it shouldn’t be legal to do so once in office.
The millions voting for this insanity, even if they were a majority, have no legal or moral right to vote away the liberty, freedom and property of their fellow citizens.
The insanity has to STOP NOW.
Here are some excellent points by Robert Bidinotto, in a Facebook post:
THE BASIC DIFFERENCE between today’s Republicans and Democrats? Going into the midterms, knowing that critical difference is all-important.
These days, the difference between a lying Republican politician and a lying Democrat politician is that the “pragmatic” Republican knows he’s telling a lie; but the hard-left Democrat denies the very existence of any such thing as “truth.”
There’s the famous quotation that “Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue.” By that standard, many if not most Republican politicians, habituated to pragmatic expediency, are moral hypocrites. But today’s Democrats — wallowing in postmodernism, subjectivism, and relativism — deny the very existence of moral standards per se. Yes, Republicans are inconsistent defenders of capitalism, individualism, and the Constitution; but today’s Democrats are *explicitly* working to destroy all three. Yes, too many Republicans might, for instance, deny women control over their pregnancies; but too many Democrats deny there is even any difference between women and men — and would punish, by force of law, anyone who says that there is.
The essential, transparent difference between “conservative” Republicans and “democratic socialists” is the difference between hypocrites and nihilists.
Hypocrisy vs. nihilism isn’t anybody’s idea of a great alternative. But the GOP mainstream at least recognize the premises of an objective reality and objective truth; and they value core Western and American principles sufficiently to pay lip service to them, and to feel guilty about betraying them. But today’s Democrat mainstream (and all the latest polls bear this out) predominantly reject Western values and American principles at root; and — defiantly identifying with America’s enemies — they openly proclaim their malicious desire to erase and annihilate those values and principles…and ultimately, America herself.
The corruption of the left is DNA deep: it’s philosophically and psychologically essential — not derivative or merely political. For me, that makes a profound difference when choosing among political candidates.
And that’s why during elections, I’ll cast my votes every time for “conservative” (and “MAGA”) hypocrites, and against “progressive” (and “democratic socialist”) nihilists. At worst, the choice might be between a gangster who at least loves his city, and an arsonist who wants to burn it all down. If that’s the binary electoral alternative I’m presented, then put me down as voting, without hesitation, for a Capone over a Mamdani.
