If Karen is a member of the middle class, she will be the first and hardest hit when her beloved socialist policies take effect in her new red state.
Why? Socialist policies create inflation, because of the massive government spending (and borrowing) required. The poor get their pittance from the government regardless of inflation, and the rich barely feel the impact of inflation. Karen will feel its impact, because she pays for her own gas, groceries and utilities.
Karen, by voting Democrat in her new red state, will pay higher and higher property taxes, sales taxes, fuel taxes and state income/capital gains taxes. Local services will go up in price as businesses try to absorb the big new taxes she voted for. If Karen starts her own business, her beloved Democrats will soon put her out of business with expensive, irrational and incomprehensible regulations. While red states used to be a haven for minimal or no COVID-like mandates, Karen, by voting Democratic, will ensure that she will endure a plethora of mask and toxic vaccine mandates the next time someone sneezes and Democrats in her former red state start to feel insecure about their power. Oh, and open borders will ensure a spike in violent crime, which will make life everywhere more dangerous and expensive.
Karen, by moving to a red state and still voting Democrat, will not only be screwing the present residents of that red state; she will be screwing herself, as well. And to her last breath, she will scream that it’s all the Republicans’ fault, because — well, because Jimmy Kimmel, Rachel Maddow and the ladies on The View told her so.
