Still true today. And the principle is wider than just Israel. In America, if citizens put down their guns, the totalitarians of the Uniparty would have already dispatched all manner of federal agents to arrest, detain or imprison “enemies of democracy” — defined as anyone critical of the government.
The people we have put in charge of enforcing our Bill of Rights are not good people. And without the ability to arm ourselves, they will be more dangerous than violent criminals.
