The Governor of Oregon brags about being a lesbian. As if it’s a virtue. But virtue implies a choice. I always thought sexual orientation was not a choice. Being a lesbian is neither a virtue nor a vice. To evaluate a person, examine their choices. Oregon’s leftist governor does choose to be a socialist. She favors high taxes, and a movement away from individual and private property rights toward state ownership of goods and services and collectivism, the idea that individuals belong to the state rather than to themselves.
Gay people used to resist the idea that the state owns you. The whole rationale for “gay rights” was individual rights, the idea that your life, mind and body belong to yourself. But this lesbian governor wants government-run medicine, forced vax experiments, huge taxes, light or no penalties for violent criminals, open borders, DEI quotas based on race over merit, censorship of speech she dislikes, and all the other things Communists and leftists support. Leftism is contradictory and just plain stupid. Yet smug as can be.
