Socialism, fascism and Communism are evil philosophies. The main reason is they undermine the dignity and rights of the individual in favor of the mob. Note that none of these philosophies are popular in nations where they’re established. Nobody — literally nobody — clamors to get INTO a socialist or Communist country. Everyone wants out, and many attempt.
In America, it’s different. We’re the only nation who has never had a socialist, fascist or Communist regime in power (at least not until New York City, this year). The millions of Americans who believe they support some version of collectivism have never endured collectivism. They like the idea of it, perhaps think it makes them virtuous to uphold it — but they never have had to live under it.
While collectivism in all its forms is evil, most of the people in America applauding and voting for it are not evil. They are incredibly ignorant and gullible. Some of them are otherwise very bright, when their intelligence is applied to other domains — domains that never would exist were it not for the free market, private property rights, freedom of speech and thought and individual rights that would be obliterated under the Marxism/collectivism/leftism they typically advocate.
Here’s the best proof of a typical American leftist’s gullibility: He or she counts on career politicians (loathed and mistrusted by everyone, including leftists) to deliver the goods of collectivism for all: unending goods and services at no charge, equally distributed. Think about it: Career politicians; the most corrupt, often the least intelligent and those with the least moral skin in the game — the least accountable people of anyone on earth — will somehow deliver the self-evidently impossible “ideal” of economic equality for everyone without any negative consequences of any kind. It’s absurd beyond the point of comedy, and the results are always tragic. Only in America — the last country never to have endured collectivism on any significant scale — does collectivism still have a large following.
Ignorance and gullibility are not evil in themselves, but in mass numbers these qualities and psychological problems can lead to evil. That’s what we see happening right now.
If America falls, it will mostly be ignorance and gullibility that devoured it.
