John Locke: “Every man has a property in his own person. This nobody has a right to, but himself.”
This quote, all by itself, blows the lid off socialism. You either own your life, or you don’t. If you do own your life, then everyone must keep his or her hands off it. If you don’t own your life, then you’re a socialist, because socialism claims we all belong to each other.
John Locke was one of the intellectual founders of America, and this is why. 250 years have not been enough for most to get it.

“Legal gun owners have 300 million guns and probably a trillion rounds of ammo. If we were the problem, you’d know it,” points out a Facebook meme.
But keep at it, Leftist Establishment elite globalist Commiefascist whacko goons. Keep intimidating, shoving, mocking, marginalizing, threatening, defrauding, coercing, taxing, regulating, mandating, shaming and degrading people who don’t like you or agree with your attitudes or world view. At some point, it’s going to work out badly for you.

“All cruelty springs from weakness,” wrote Seneca.
True. The strong and the authentically self-confident don’t need to tyrannize others. A person with self-esteem does not need to feel stronger or better in relation to others. He or she already knows his or her standing, and it’s not in relation to others. There’s no issue of “standing” or comparison if you truly have self-esteem. You’re simply concerned with your own standards, interests, goals, experiences and desires.
The narcissist and the psychopath are concerned with how they relate to others. That’s the essence of their error, dysfunction or evil. Self-confidence isn’t concerned with comparisons, not in a major way and really not at all.
