It’s not an act of self-sacrifice or restraint for me to refrain from cheering Rob Reiner’s horrible death. Unlike leftists who cheered Charlie Kirk’s horrible death — including, most probably, Rob Reiner himself — it’s inconceivable for me to experience joy or pleasure out of the suffering of another. It does nothing whatsoever for me, even personally or selfishly, for another to experience pain. This doesn’t mean I don’t want justice and accountability for people who do things that are wrong, stupid or (worst case) evil. But the universe is ultimately a pretty fair and reasonable place. You get what you ask for, even when you don’t believe or know that you’re asking for it. Rationally, there’s no temptation to wish harm on another, even another you loathe. If you leave them accountable for their thinking and actions, you can usually be sure that reality will take care of the rest.
It seems like adding insult to injury to have your throat slit by your son, and then to have your murder investigated and prosecuted by a ruthlessly incompetent, DEI based LAPD.
The essence of Trump Derangement Syndrome: “Someone else is doing or thinking something I don’t like, and there’s nothing I can do about it — and THIS MAKES ME INSANE.” Remember, socialists want to control everything. They think they’re omnipotent and omniscient. Trump’s presidency is a glaring reminder they don’t control everything, and not everyone shares their world view. Serene, confident and secure people with authentic self-esteem can live with this fact.
