Thankful for Privacy and Property Rights

I am THANKFUL for private property rights.

Property rights enable us to enjoy Thanksgiving (or any other day) in the way of our own, individual choosing. That’s what America is about. Not the socialist-Communist nightmare “utopia” being prepared for us in New York, California and other portions of the country moving in that direction.

The FBI will investigate the targeted, ambush-style shooting that left two West Virginia National Guardsmen in critical condition as an act of terrorism, NBC News reported Wednesday night, citing two senior U.S. law enforcement officials.

The Guardsmen were shot in downtown Washington, D.C., just blocks from the White House. The suspect, identified by multiple media outlets as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national, was shot during the incident and is in custody with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Lakanwal allegedly came to the U.S. during the chaotic 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal, law enforcement sources told the New York Post. — NEWSMAX

How many times to do we have to hear “Allahu Akbar” in America before we recognize Islam is a problem?

“It is only in folk tales, children’s stories, and the journals of intellectual opinion that power is used wisely and well to destroy evil. The real world teaches very different lessons, and it takes willful and dedicated ignorance to fail to perceive them.”
— Noam Chomsky

Absolutely right. Power is destruction. The only power that matters is an individual’s power over his or her own choices and self-made destiny. Power of some “strongman” or benevolent king or Santa Claus bureaucracy providing free stuff — it’s all fantasy. It’s a willful evasion of everything we know about the destruction of gangs and governments over the centuries to promote such fantasy. A limited government such as that conceived by America’s founders, which uses force and power only to secure individual rights, is legitimate. Unfortunately, no government has lived up to that ideal yet, not even America’s over the long run.

Power corrupts.
