Racism is Racism

A preoccupation with race is the defining feature of racism. If you are white and hate black or brown people — as a group, and for their race alone — then you are a racist.

Similarly: If you are white and love black people for their race, and their race alone, you are likewise a racist. Race is neither a virtue nor a vice; virtues and vices refer only to our choices and our character, while race has nothing to do with either.

If you are white and loathe white people for their race alone, then you are not merely a racist — you are emotionally crippled with self-loathing, propped up by no less prejudice than a Jim Crow or apartheid supporter. You are truly sick.

We don’t merely live in culturally ignorant times. We live in times where mental illness is on the march and on the rise; left unchecked, this madness will destroy the human species.
