Government cannot make America healthy again; only individual Americans can.
If you favor limited government, you might have mixed feelings about RFK, Jr. heading up HHS. I understand your concern. Over the years, I’m told he has favored socialized medicine and government involvement in medicine in place of what should be a health care private marketplace. At the same time, he clearly understands the danger of the alliance between private industry and government. Due to that merger, the billion dollar pharmaceuticals industry has become a multitrillion dollar industry, aligned with Big Government.
This monster has to be crushed.
Not because capitalism and free markets are wrong; but because they are right. Capitalism and free markets are just alternate phrases for: “being left alone.” Or: “My body, my choice.” Under leftists like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the unholy marriage between industry and government would have been cemented forever. Your body would be subject to the commands and choices of the government in D.C. — and absolutely nobody else. RFK Jr. and Trump will expose, in essence, how that’s already the case.
I don’t believe it’s the government’s job — even when it’s a Trump administration — to “make America healthy again.” It’s government’s job to stay out of the way. They have nothing to say about our health care, other than holding objectively fraudulent companies legally accountable. You don’t need an out-of-control government monstrosity/bureaucracy in order to attain truth in advertising. Clearly, the bureaucracy hasn’t helped and has become part of the problem.
The best hope for RFK, Jr., is that he can disrupt the toxic control government has over what’s put on our medical care marketplace shelves. We are quite capable of making up our OWN minds about how to deal with our bodies, and which doctors to choose to guide us. If we’re not capable of that — well, neither are the unaccountable bureaucrats in D.C. growing fat and rich off our declining health.
