The Oscars used to be the peak event of a culture. We no longer have a culture. We have a trash heap outside a mental hospital. The best and brightest are underground. They will not win awards, because awards are about “woke,” not beauty, talent or achievement.
The awards ceremony is a pretense. I believe the organizers and hosts know it, which is why they will hurl verbal banalities and insults at us. Their nastiness and on-stage brawls are a struggle not to know the fraud they’re participating in.
It’s ok. Truth and beauty WILL again prevail. At some other place and time. Create it for yourself. And don’t look for any at the Oscars. Those are just the corpses of a cultural wasteland.
