What Makes You Think Counseling Will Stop Mass Shootings?

Why do people insist on thinking that the increased availability of counseling will significantly lower the likelihood of a person considering mass homicide from doing so?

Ask any counselor. People don’t go to mental health professionals and say, “I want to shoot at people randomly. I have a very specific plan. Please help me stop myself.”

These people who shoot up schools almost always have plenty of access to counseling or churches or even family or friends who would certainly drop what they’re doing to help ensure that the killer not embark on his or her killing spree.

The overriding factor here is that THE PERSON PLANNING THE MASS MURDER DOES NOT WANT THE HELP.

Please stop indulging in and spreading the delusional fantasy that serial killers or mass homicidal sociopaths wish to receive help. The hard reality is that they don’t believe they have a problem. They believe everyone and everything else is the problem. Not themselves.
