The most illuminating part of this quote? The phrase “false virtue.”
Leftism is based on false virtue. It seeks to morally disarm you — by making you feel guilty — so that the rest will follow; you’ll lay down your arms of self-defense; you’ll give up your property to the leftists who run the state; you’ll give up all your liberty, economic/material and mental/spiritual, both in theory and in practice.
Totalitarianism means exactly that: THE TOTALITY of all that makes your life valuable. Leftists (better than most conservatives, I’m afraid) understand that freedom and liberty are the oxygen we breathe. Without freedom (capitalism, freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, the right to due process and equality under the law of a LIMITED government), we can manufacture nothing of value, so we depend (for our material wants) on the crumbs of the state, i.e., the crumbs of the connected — the Bidens, the Gates, the Zuckerbergs, and the other pseudo capitalists who have amassed great fortunes so they can turn us all into paupers and serfs of the international, infallible all-glorious State.
Leftists will attack your religion, if you have one — but, rest assured, THEIR religion is THE religion of Government which in practice always means (and can only mean) one thing: “I have control over you, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
