Forcing People to Drive Electric Cars is not Moral

The question isn’t whether electric vehicles are good. The question is whether the government has a right to steal your money, pay the manufacturers of electric vehicles to build them, outlaw their competitors and then force you to buy vehicles subsidized by your own money.

You don’t innovate change through coercion. Change happens naturally, through a combination of scientific/technological progress and market forces.

Forcing innovation is what Soviet Russia and Maoist China attempted, as well as Cuba and many other disastrous experiments in socialism or Communism.

People have not learned. And Americans, most of whom have never been directly exposed to Communism, seem to have learned least of all.

My, what a painful lesson this is going to be.
