“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence,” Elon Musk wrote.
Here’s the problem: Leftism and woke-ism are based on violence. They’re all about force: FORCING you to do what they demand and FORCING you to be silent when they don’t like what you’re saying. They’re a modern hybrid of Communists and fascists. They are fueled by nihilism and hatred only.
You can’t have a “town square” when the people dominating the national debate for generations have now shut off all debate. They will not tolerate what Musk claims he wishes to attempt. They are violent, arrogant, ruthless sociopaths and narcissists who view even a PEEP of dissension as the equivalent of violence–to which they feel entitled to respond with violence or government restraint (the same thing.)
Musk’s goal is a nice fantasy, but it’s a fantasy.
