After the Storm (Contd.)

It’s encouraging to see how people can stick together after a natural disaster. There’s little or no coercion. Everyone agrees on the need for survival and recovery.

Sadly, we’re not like that on other things.

Millions of us who act with civility following a hurricane will soon revert to support of censorship, legalized theft (like student loan transfers), coercion in medicine, brainwashing of children in education, gun confiscation and all the rest.

It’s so very sad that it takes a natural disaster–something no rational person welcomes–to get only a brief glimmer of what life in a healthy civilization might be like.
